Community Chaplain Network is a mission-driven nonprofit built to equip chaplains for the realities of emergency service. This certification track brings years of clinical insight to the intense, high-stakes world of the badge, the truck, and the rig, where every shift can turn on a single call.
Through structured learning that pairs practical action with guided reflection and hands-on experience, you’ll build the skill and steadiness it takes to be a trusted presence for officers, firefighters, medics, and dispatchers who carry the weight of the job home with them.
It’s built on an evidence-based curriculum grounded in Clinical Pastoral Education and 50+ years of combined developer experience.

Program structure
How a CPE unit works
Each unit is 400 hours of accredited Clinical Pastoral Education, combining real clinical practice with structured group learning and reflection.
Hours of supervised clinical practice
Hands-on ministry in real responder settings, from stations and scenes to critical-incident debriefs, with the support of experienced supervisors.
Hours of structured learning
Small-group reflection, case studies, and guided instruction that turn field experience into lasting clinical and pastoral skill.
Who it’s for
- Chaplains and aspiring chaplains called to serve police, fire, EMS, and dispatch
- Sworn officers and firefighters called to minister to their own
- Clergy and lay leaders seeking trauma-informed, clinical training
- Those already serving a department who want formal accreditation
- Ordination is not required to begin CPE
